GOVT CREATING ANARCHY: CONG PRESIDENT

NEW DELHI: Congress President and Opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday condemned the government for switching off his mike when he wanted to raise the issue of lathicharge and tear gas on students marching to Parliament on Monday.

He told reporters in the Parliament House precincts that if there is no debate in democracy, anarchy will prevail. He wanted a statement by the Home Minister and then the floor leaders get opportunity to raise the issue.

He said if Parliament is not the forum for discussion, the government is creating anarchy. He wondered why the MPs were not allowed to go outside the Parliament House to meet the agitated students.

He accused the Prime Minister and the Home Minister wanted to control the opposition MPs and slammed the PM for claiming that the government is with the youths. Are you with them to beat them up with lathis, he asked.
