NEW DELHI,19 March 2026 : The BJP central election committee, headed by party chief Nitin Navin, on Thursday selected 88 candidates for the Assam Assembly elections in the House of 126. Other seats will go to its allies.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and all other members of the committee were present in the meeting.
Those selected include Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma from Jalukbari, Mrs Madhavi Das from Birsing-Jarua, Bhabesh Kalita from Rangia, Vijay Kumar Gupta from Guwahati central, Mrs Nilima Devi from Mangaidai, Mrs Ajanta Neog from Golaghat, Mrs Niso terangpi from Diphu, Mrs Rupali Langthasa from Haflong Ashok Singhal from Dhekiajuli, and Bhupen Kumar Borah from Bihpuria.
