CAMPAIGN END TOMORROW , FOR TUESDAY FINAL PHASE POLL IN BIHAR

With the end of electioneering, the political temperature in Bihar has reached its peak as top leaders from both the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition Mahagathbandhan made their final appeals to voters in a fiercely contested battle.

The second phase is seen as a crucial decider in the multi-phase election, covering politically significant districts such as Patna, Nalanda, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, and Samastipur. Both alliances are leaving nothing to chance, knowing well that the outcome here could determine who forms the next government in Patna.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, leading the NDA campaign along with the BJP, held multiple rallies focusing on development and law-and-order issues. He urged voters to give his government another term to “continue the journey of progress.” Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha and senior BJP leaders highlighted welfare schemes and infrastructure achievements, seeking to counter anti-incumbency sentiments on the ground.

On the other hand, the Mahagathbandhan — led by RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav and supported by Congress and Left parties — mounted an aggressive campaign centered on unemployment, corruption, and the state’s economic stagnation. Tejashwi drew large crowds across the heartland, promising “rozgar” (employment) and a change in governance style. His rallies witnessed a visible wave of enthusiasm among young voters.

The Election Commission said polling arrangements have been tightened, with additional paramilitary forces deployed to ensure a peaceful vote.

Political observers believe that the high voter participation signals a desire for change, but both sides remain confident of their prospects. As the campaign dust settles, all eyes now turn to November 11 when Bihar’s electorate will cast its decisive vote, and to November 14 when the counting of votes will reveal which alliance has won the trust of the people.
