
NEW DELHI,11 March 2026 : Congress general secretary Sachin Pilot on Tuesday attacked the government for its silence on the shortage on the cooking gas cylinders, asserting that it was hiding some facts regarding the gas crisis.
He said the tension in the Gulf countries is bound to hit the global markets and the government should have done advance preparation to deal with it.
The Rajasthan leader said the government increased the prices of gas, but it did not ensure sufficient supply which will directly hit the common people as well as hotels and restaurants.
He said if the global situation remains the same in the coming years, there is bound to be hike in the petroleum products. He wants concrete steps by the government to ensure the energy security.
On the government’s statement in Parliament, he said it should not be a formality as instead concrete diplomatic efforts should be launched for peace. He asserted that lakhs of Indians work in the gulf countries and the government’s top priority should be their protection.
