NEW DELHI: The Congress is contemplating to change its Uttar Pradesh President Ajay Rai. Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge will hold a meeting to take the crucial decision.
The two leaders will discuss change of the state presidents in UP and Punjab.Rahul Gandhi had a one-on-one meeting with Ajay Rai on Wednesday. Rai was a personal choice of Rahul to take on Prime Minister Modi in Varanasi.
The party sources described tension between Ajay Rai and newly appointed state incharge Rajendra Pal Gautam. They said a clear picture will emerge after the meeting of Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.
