The Indo American Cultural Society of USA Inc., under the leadership of its President Pradip (Peter) Kothari, will organise India’s 80th Independence Day celebration and flag-hoisting ceremony in Iselin, New Jersey, on August 15, 2026.
The event, organised in association with the Man Making Group and Oak Tree Iselin Presbyterian Church, will begin at 11 am at the public parking lot of the First Presbyterian Church of Iselin, 1295 Oak Tree Road.
The celebration will feature cultural and Bollywood dance performances, live orchestra, patriotic songs, and the national anthems of India and the United States, followed by the flag-hoisting ceremony.
Kothari said the celebration has been organised for more than 25 years with continued support from members of the Indian-American community, businessmen and well-wishers.
He invited community members and families to participate in the event and remember the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and the contributions of its visionary leaders.
Kothari also emphasised the importance of remembering India’s roots, freedom struggle, secular democratic values and passing these values on to the younger generation.
The event will bring together members of the Indian-American community to celebrate India’s Independence Day while highlighting the longstanding cultural ties between India and the United States.
