NEW DELHI: Congress media and publicity chairman Pawan Khera and UP AICC incharge Rajendra Pal Gautam on Thursday welcomed at an AICC press conference a score of leaders joining the Congress, including retired IAS, retired IPS and activists. They are all joining after sensing Rahul Gandhi’s activism.
They include Dr Anoop Kumar Ambedkar, who was in-charge of many BSP state units, Supreme Court lawer Mayank Yadav and advocate Shrey Yadav who fought the cases of the students, 25% of them without charging any fee.
Those joining the Congress include UP PCS officer Sunil Kumkar Verma, who took voluntary retirement, and Chaudhary Khushi Ram, who was a senior IAS officer of Punjab.
Also joining is B P Ashok, retired as an UP IPS officer. His father was also an IPS. Both formed Indian Political Justice Party which is merging now into the Congress.
Gautam also introduced farmer leader Rohit Jakhar who led the Punjab farmers at the Gazipur borders.
Also present is Sudesh Kumar, who resigned as the Kerala Director General of Police, whose expertise is intelligence. Others joining the Congress are: Aap social media head Vakar Chaudhary and Vikrant Gautam, who retired from the Road transport authority.
Some other leaders joining the Congress include former Political Justice Part treasurer Kishan Swaroop, R K Messi, Rajendra Prasda Vishap, Amit Kumar as also Savitri Gautam, the national secretary of rashtriya Lok Dal, and Arun Banswal from Meerut.
