NEW DELHI: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust deferred the appointment of its first CEO by a month to September 2, 2026, after receiving over 5,200 applications that require thorough scrutiny by the selection committee headed by a former High Court judge.
During the meeting held in Ayodhya on July 22 under the leadership of president Nritya Gopal Das, the trust opted to manage immediate administrative needs by appointing an interim secretary rather than rushing the high-profile executive decision. “The trust’s next meeting on pending issues, including filling three vacant posts of trustees, is scheduled for September 2.
Also postponed was appointment to the key post of a permanent general secretary that fell vacant with the resignation of Champat Rai. Acting general secretary Krishna Mohan, a retired Maharashtra’s Indian Forest Service officer. VHP general secretary Bajrang Lal Bagra is the leading contender for the post.
