SEVENTH SESSION OF LOK SABHA CONCLUDES

NEW DELHI,18 April 2026 : Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Saturday concluded the seventh session of the 18th Lok Sabha, noting that the productivity was around 93 per cent.

He said there were 31 sittings lasting for 151 hours and 42 minutes. The general discussion on the Union Budget lasted around 13 hours, in which 63 members participated.

The Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill and the Delimitation Bill were discussed for 21 hours and 27 minutes and 131 members participated in the discussion in the special session held from April 16. Birla said the Constitution amendment bill was not passed by the House.

Twelve government bills were introduced and 9 Bills were passed while as many as 326 matters of public importance were raised during the session.

The President of India addressed Members of both the Houses of Parliament on 28 January, 2026 and the discussion on Vote of Thanks on the President’s Address lasted for 2 hours 46 minutes, informed Birla.
