NEW DELHI: National Conference president and former chief minister Farooq Abdullah has triggered a political firestorm by calling recent threats to Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley a “conspiracy” to deny Jammu and Kashmir statehood, and blaming the Lieutenant Governor’s administration for an atmosphere of fear.

Fresh anxiety has gripped Kashmiri Pandit employees and residents after a new online hit list, attributed to the United Liberation Council, believed to be a proxy of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, surfaced with an unprecedented level of detail.

They are on the edge as fresh online threat lists addresses of homes and phone numbers.
